Periodontal Treatment

Periodontal disease attacks the gums and the bone that support the teeth and can cause bad breath. Plaque is a sticky film of food debris, bacteria, and saliva. If plaque is not removed, it turns into calculus (tartar). When plaque and calculus are not removed, they begin to destroy the gums and bone. Periodontal disease is characterized by red, swollen, and bleeding gums but more than often is not painful. Talk to us today if you are experience these symptoms.

Periodontal Disease Treatment

Our team will first evaluate for periodontal disease and recommend the appropriate treatment. If the disease is caught early enough and no damage has been done, a regular cleaning will be recommended. If the disease has progressed too far, scaling and deep cleaning will be recommended. We will spend extra time cleaning plaque and tartar from your gums and teeth. This process may take multiple visits to accomplish. Please give us a call if you have any questions about periodontal treatment.
